Step 1: Complete Theme Check

Before running price tests, it’s important to ensure your store is compatible. A theme check is required for all stores prior to starting price tests.

  • If you’ve already completed the theme check, you can skip this step.

  • If not, navigate to the "Get Started" page in the app and click the "Request Check" button to initiate the process.

Theme Check Notes:

  • Processed Monday–Thursday, 10 AM–2 PM (Paris time, UTC+1).

  • Typically completed within one working day.

  • Custom themes, third-party apps, or advanced features may take longer.

  • Collaborator access may be requested for complex cases.

Step 2: Create a New Test

Go to the ABConvert app dashboard and click on "Create New Test" in the top-right corner.

On the test selection page, choose Price Test and then click "Create Price Test" to proceed.

Step 3: Select Test Products

Choose the products you want to test by selecting those labeled as available.

  • Hover over the product title to see the full product name and the product price.

For users utilizing the Cart Transform testing method, we also offer "Select All" and "Upload via CSV" options to help you quickly and efficiently select test products.

Step 4: Split Traffic Settings

Decide how you want to split your traffic.

  • The default is 50/50, which means 50% of visitors will see A price and another 50% of visitors will see B price.

  • To test more price points, click "Add Test Group" to include additional groups.

For advanced traffic setup, use the "Advanced Options" at the bottom:

Step 5: Set Test Prices

Enter your test prices manually into the provided fields or use the autofill tool by clicking on "Apply Autofill" button.

The app automatically pulls cost data from your Shopify backend. If you want to use different costs for profit calculations, you can manually add them by clicking on "Add Product Cost" button.

Step 6: Review Test Details + Launch

Carefully review all test details, including products, traffic settings, and goals.

Once everything is verified, click "Create Test" to launch.

After launching the test, it will appear on your dashboard. Click the test title to view the analytics.

Click on "Get preview url", you will be able the see product(s) with different prices.

By clicking on the products, you will be able to view different versions of your store.

Step 8: Manage Duplicate Product

This step is only required for Duplicate Product Method

Why Manage Duplicate Products?

Managing duplicate products ensures a smooth shopping experience and prevents disruptions in inventory, sales channels, and product visibility. Proper management of duplicates keeps your price test seamless without affecting your store's operations.

What Do You Need to Do?

  • Remove duplicate products from third-party sales channels

  • Exclude duplicate products from collections

  • Disable the quick add button

  • Configure inventory tracking

  • Verify and adjust the custom shipping profile

  • Set up duplicate products in third-party apps (e.g., reviews, bundles, etc.)
